ISANDS is a voluntary organisation which was formed in 1983 by
a group of parents whose babies had either been born dead (Stillbirth),
or had died shortly after birth (Neonatal Death).
Services
Publish and distribute our booklet "A Little Lifetime".
Befriend and support bereaved parents and families whose babies have died or are not expected to live for very long.
Arrange regular Parents' Support Meetings.
Publish our Newsletter twice yearly with information, views and experiences of ISANDS members.
Produce Information Leaflets.
Organise Public Meetings.
Organise Inter-denominational Memorial Services.
Speak to professional groups such as Doctors, Nurses, Clergy and other interested groups about practical ways they can help parents.
Heighten awareness about perinatal death (the death of a baby around the time of birth).
