The Irish name Cuidiú means
care and support for all; parents with bumps or babes, tots
or teens.
Our aim is to provide information to parents which allows
them to make informed choices about pregnancy, childbirth and
breastfeeding. We also provide a supportive background to empower
parents to act upon their decision. Our main activities are
Antenatal classes, Breastfeeding counselling and Postnatal
support provided by our group of dedicated volunteer mums.
Most of our membership is concentrated in Dublin and Cork
but Cuidiú is very much a national organisation and
Cuidiú branches run many and varied activities for families
and minders. Branches evolve differently according to the interests
and expertise of their membership but the core ethos of every
branch is overseen and directed by Council.
We are a self help organisation offering mutual support, so
the success of our organisation depends on the principle of
give and take. Obviously we do not expect members with new
babies or pressing family commitments to join a committee or
run a toddler morning, but we do appreciate input from people
who may have benefited from our support. |
