IASBAH, the Irish Association
for Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus, was established in 1968
by a small group of parents whose children had the conditions
Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus. Now many years later the Association
has over 1,500 members and has become a national voluntary organisation
with branches all around the country. It is the leading body
in Ireland for information, support and advice about Spina Bifida
and/or Hydrocephalus.
Aims and Objectives
IASBAH's vision is that people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus will participate to their fullest potential in all aspects of life.
The mission or purpose of IASBAH is to provide information, support and advice to people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus, their parents and carers, as well as to promote social inclusion and equality for people with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus in Irish society.
Working together with its members, the Association is now able to provide a network of services to best meet its members ever increasing needs. IASBAH also works in partnership with a network of organsiations to share information and provide its members a range of high-quality support and specialist services.
