I think the health care system in Ireland is an absolute disgrace. I visited my local hospital 3 times and on three occasions they said i was okay. I have vertigo it turns out which has still to be treated as i took it upon myself to do my own research into my complaints. I called my own doc this morning and asked to be put on serc 16 to treat the condition. I am still not feeling great although i do believe that it takes a few days to work. I am very disappointed in the health care system and wish to god they would sort it out ASAP..... I was left feeling coming out of the hospital that it was all in my head. I told the doc in hospital YES it is in my head i feel dizzy that is why i am here!!!!! He just smiled and sent me home.... : (

The Health Services in Ireland will never improve until each one of us gets our best foot and gives the rear end a good boot and hope that we all wake up.

I have been involved in the Medical Field as a non professional since 1972 until 2006 and I am of the opinion that with each year since the Celtic Tiger that was a fiction story, we have become a less caring society and our Medical People are really driven by the $€ or any other sign that denotes money.

My 2 year old daughter was with the Care Doc on Friday and he diagnosed SWINE FLU and said that everything is now down to the swine Flu once the symptoms meet a certain criteria.  It shows that we are decending further down the none diagnoses chain and allowing Doctors to take the easy way out.

Howmany times have you hears that " Its virus " and that is not really an answer.  Doctors are going to have to get better systems for doing tests at a local level, so that they can give some sort of satisfaction for the serious money that they charge for their services.

The average hourly rate for Irish General Practioners must be about €100.00 per hour and if you do the sums thats alot of money on a yearly basis.  For that kind of pay, they need to do better at their work and pay attention to the person that is paying their wages.

I know of some very good Doctors who are caring and do some good work, however we need to have a more careing nature here in Ireland soon, before we go too far from our old caring ways Sealed Cool.
